Tatarstan people celebrate Sabantuy

June is the month of Sabantuy, Tatar national holiday in Tatarstan. It celebrates after sowing works in the fields. At first Sabantuys will be taken up in villages and every district. On 7th and 8th of  June Tatar nation of the republic will go out to the nature, valley where will be set Sabantuy place. Tatar national wrestling, horse race, traditional games those are the attribute of Sabantuy. Every people, every guest will try to take part in games and competitions.

Sorry to say there keeping dirty and dull weather in the republic, that’s`s why in some districts Sabantuy is canceled to the next week-ends. In the next week it promised to be fine weather. After districts` Sabantuy there come Sabantuys of small towns, in our capital, Kazan, Sabantuy will clebrate on the 21st of June. After that Russian regions and Commonwealth of Independent States Sabantuy will celebrate.

In ancient times Sabantuy celebrated as a heathen holiday, but now it is like a day when friends, relatives, children gather in mother’s and father’s living pleace, in native home and in motherland.
