Sviyazhsky nature reserve

Location: Zelenodolskyi and Verkhneuslonskyi districts

The nature reserve was created in 1988 because of the exceptional ecological value of the natural environments of the Sviyaga river, the Sviyazhsky bay of the Kuibyshev Reservoir, in water meadows of which 35 different types of plants and animals grow and live, what were registered in the Republican Red Book. The reserve protects many animals valuable for hunting and commerce.
