The biggest mosque in Russia was opened in 1996 on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the town. The building of original architectural design has no cupola but four minarets: three of them are 66 m with a madrasah and one at the central entrance is 5 m higher. This is a whole religious complex with a madrasah, a library and a hotel. The interior decor of the mosque includes 1000 m² of carpets, the walls and steps of the main staircase are finished in marble. In the three prayer halls (the main one is 900 m²) over a thousand people can pray at the same time.
