The centre of the district is Nurlat. Area – 2293,8 square km. Population – 62,4 thousand people. The city of Nurlat is situated on the bank of the river Kondurcha, 268 km to the south-east from Kazan. There are a railway station and a pier. Population – 32,5 thousand people.
