The tourist activities in Tatarstan include two types of events: seasonal and religious festivities, and cultural festivals. Seasonal festivities are the New Year celebration, Sabantui, the Victory Day, and etc. All these festivities are celebrated exuberant. Cultural festivals are established by the republican government or special funds, and have international or republican status. Among those events could be mentioned the International Shalyapin Festival, the International Rudolf Nuriev Ballet Festival, the Republican Karim Tinchurin Theatre Festival, and others; and local festivals like Flower festival in Naberezhnye Chelny.
